An Evening at the Drive-in
I have to confess: I had a great time this past Saturday. Upon Amy’s suggestion she and I traveled up to Lamesa, Texas to watch Spider-man 2 at the drive-in theater there. It brought back many memories of my childhood when mom, dad and I would load up into the car and visit one of the drive-ins here in Midland. Now those facilities are gone here in Midland, replaced by modern movie houses who’s only goal is to take your money from you. The Skyvue in Lamesa is great, I was very impressed with their establishment and the atmosphere. The pricing is excellent–only $4.00 a person to watch the movie, and the snack bar is *very* good. All-in-all we spent about $17 for two tickets, a chili-cheese dog, nachos, an 8″ funnel cake, and a drink. If we had gone to the theater here in Midland it probably would have cost over $40 for all of that.
