I See Green Things

The rain has finally passed here in Midland, and everywhere you look there is green grass, blooming plants and trees waking from their winter slumber. It a pretty strange sight to see in West Texas. This time last year all I remember seeing was dead dry yellow grass and dust flying through the air. This year mother nature has brought a record breaking amount of rain to the Permian Basin but not without its consequences. There has been alot of flooding, the small town of Toyo was evacuated, lots of hail and wind damage, and a bridge on I-20 collapsed. Despite those problems the rain has been a gift and we all have enjoyed it, it definitely beats bust blowing at 30+ mph.
